U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton travels to Senegal Tuesday for what is expected to be a weeklong trip to Africa.
Few details of the trip have been released, including what countries she will visit after her stop in Senegal.
U.S. officials say she is expected to make a speech on democracy at a university in Senegal's capital, Dakar.
Clinton has previoiusly made several trips to sub-Saharan Africa.
Last June, she visited Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania. During that trip, Clinton voiced concern about China's aid and investment practices in Africa, saying it is not always consistent with generally accepted international norms of transparency and good governance.
