An explosion in Kenya's capital has killed at least one person, a day before U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is due to visit the city.
A VOA reporter in Nairobi says the explosion occurred in the neighborhood of Eastleigh, an area where many Somali immigrants live.
He says the explosion was apparently the result of a grenade attack.
Kenyan newspapers report the attack happened near a Kenyan Air Force base, and that a number of people were wounded in the blast.
Clinton is due to arrive in Nairobi on Saturday and meet with President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
