A Mongolian court has sentenced former president Nambar Enkhbayer to four years in prison, after finding him guilty on corruption charges.

The court found the former prime minister and president guilty on Thursday of misappropriating gifts and other corruption charges.

Mr. Enkhbayer, who was barred from running in Mongolia's June parliamentary elections, has called the charges groundless and says he will appeal his conviction.
