Afghanistan's parliament voted Saturday to dismiss the country's defense and interior ministers.
Parliament had expressed concerns after questioning the two about security lapses, including cross-border attacks blamed on Pakistan.
Defense Minister Abdul Rahim Wardak and Interior Minister Bismullah Mohammadi were the top ministers in President Hamid Karzai's Cabinet. Their dismissal comes even as Mr. Karzai is trying to show stability in his government ahead of the withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan.
