At least seven people have been killed in a shooting at a Sikh temple in the northern U.S. state of Wisconsin. The gunman is among the dead.

Greenfield Police Chief Bradley Wentlandt says four people were found dead inside the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, located outside of Milwaukee, on Sunday morning. Three others, including the gunmen, were killed outside the temple.

He says authorities do not believe a second gunman was involved.

Earlier, a police spokesman said an officer responding to the shooting had engaged the suspected gunman, with both sustaining injuries.
