A remote-controlled bomb has exploded outside the Afghan capital, killing eight civilians and wounding at least one other person.

Police say the blast Tuesday struck a bus on the western side of Kabul.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

Also Tuesday, NATO said an insurgent attack killed a coalition service member in eastern Afghanistan. It did not give any further details on the attack or the nationality of the soldier.
