Harvard University is investigating more than 100 undergraduate students for alleged cheating on a final exam.

Harvard President Drew Faust calls the allegations totally unacceptable behavior that betrays the school's intellectual inquiry.

University officials did not identify which undergraduate class and course is involved. They allege the students plagiarized answers or collaborated when taking the exam. The rules say the students must not confer during tests.

Punishment could range from a warning to a year's suspension.

Harvard is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts and has long been regarded as one of the most prestigious universities in the United States.
