Marco Rubio To Speak at RNC in Tampa

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, of Florida, will be addressing the Republican National Convention on its final night.

The native Floridian has serve in the Senate since 2010. Though never a Tea party candidate, Rubio is a favorite among Tea Party conservatives.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told reporters in June that Rubio was being vetted as a potential vice presidential pick. However, the Romney camp ultimately settled on Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan for the job.

Rubio is a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.

The 41-year old is the son of Cuban immigrants who became naturalized U.S. citizens in 1975.

Rubio is a Christian whose faith has led him to worship at Catholic, Mormon and Protestant churches.
