Barack Obama already has accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments – U.S. president, U.S. Senator, Nobel Peace Prize winner. He can now add one more title – brew master.

President Obama bought a home brewing kit last year and with the help of some fellow home brewers who work in the White House, created several beer recipes.

White House Assistant Chef Sam Kass said Saturday on a blog entitled Ale to the Chief that they were surprised the beer turned out so well. Two of the president's microbrewed honey beer recipes were released on the blog.

More than 12,000 people had signed a petition asking for the recipes. Kass said “with public excitement about the White House beer fermenting such a buzz, we decided we better hop right to it.”
