Neighboring rivals Pakistan and India have signed a new visa plan that will make travel between the two countries easier.
Indian external affairs minister, S. M. Krishna, signed the agreement with Pakistan's interior minister, Rehman Malik, Saturday in Islamabad, during Krishna's three-day visit to Pakistan.
The agreement will ease travel restrictions for tourists, businesspeople, and those over age 65.
Krishna and Pakistan's foreign minister, Hina Rabbani Khar, later spoke briefly to reporters, each expressing hope that the two nations can continue to improve their relationship, which has been tense in recent years.
Relations between Pakistan and India worsened in 2008 after militants based in Pakistan killed some 160 people in shooting and bombing attacks across the Indian city of Mumbai.
