Iraqi authorities said Sunday a series of attacks across the country has killed more than 50 people and left at least 200 others wounded.
Officials say the deadliest attack took place near the southern Iraqi city of Amara, where two car bombs killed at least 14 people.
Earlier, near Balad north of the capital, Baghdad, gunmen and a bombing killed 11 soldiers and wounded several others.
Farther north at a police recruitment center near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, police say a bombing killed at least seven recruits and wounded 17 other people.
Various other deadly attacks were also reported across Iraq, including two bombings in the southern city of Nasiriyah. One of the blasts occurred near the French consulate.
There has been no claim of responsibility for any of the attacks.
