Bombings and other attacks across Iraq Sunday have killed at least 16 people and left others wounded.
Iraqi officials say the deadliest attack took place near Balad, north of Baghdad, when gunmen and a bombing killed 11 soldiers and wounded several others.
Farther north at a police recruitment center near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, police say a bombing killed at least seven recruits and wounded 17 other people.
Various other attacks were also reported across Iraq.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for any of the attacks.
