Palestinian doctors say an Israeli airstrike on a car in Gaza Wednesday killed at least two men and wounded one.

The attack took place in the town of Rafah, near the Palestinian border with Egypt. Palestinian militants frequently fire rockets into Israel. Israel also accuses militants of using tunnels to smuggle weapons from Egypt into Rafah.

Also Wednesday, Israel launched previously unannounced war games in the Golan Heights, across the border from Syria.

Israeli army reservists were roused out of their beds in the early morning and ordered to report for duty.

The military calls Wednesday's exercise routine, saying it simulated a sudden outbreak of hostilities in Golan.

Israel has expressed concern about the possibility of chemical weapons and other arms falling into the hands of the fractured opposition in Syria.
