Israel's foreign minister says his country will not accept any changes to its 1979 peace treaty with Egypt.

Avigdor Lieberman told Israeli public radio Sunday that there is not “the slightest possibility” of accepting any modification to the Camp David accords.

His comments come as Egypt increases its military presence in the Sinai Peninsula, which borders Israel and has become a haven for militants. Some militants have used the territory as a launching ground for attacking Israel.

The Jewish state has urged Egypt to tackle the growing lawlessness in the Sinai, but at the same time does not want Egypt to exceed the military limits spelled out in the Camp David treaty.

An Israeli soldier and three gunmen were killed Friday in the latest attack along the border.
