Muslims rallied Saturday in Pakistan and Bangladesh to protest an anti-Islam film produced in the United States that has sparked demonstrations across the Islamic world.

About 15,000 people massed in Pakistan's largest city, Karachi, voicing their allegiance to Islam and the Prophet Muhammed and calling for the expulsion of the U.S. ambassador to the country.

Demonstrators also walked over a large American flag and beat a picture of U.S. President Barack Obama.

In Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, security forces guarded against violence as protesters marched through the streets.

Some demonstrators there called for the execution of the filmmaker, saying he insulted the Prophet Muhammed.

Protests against the film have sometimes turned deadly. Dozens of people have been killed, many of them in Pakistan.
