Another Pakistani politician has offered a bounty for the murder of the producer of a video that denigrates the Prophet Muhammad.

During a rally in the northwestern city of Peshawar Monday, former Pakistani legislator Ikramullah Shahid said he would give $200,000 to anyone who killed the filmmaker. The low-budget video that was made in the United States was posted on the Internet and triggered world-wide protests by Muslims.

Shahid's offer comes after Pakistani Railway Minister Ghulam Ahmad Bilour offered a $100,000 bounty for the maker of the anti-Islam film roughly two weeks ago.

In an interview with Radio Free Asia, Minister Bilour said he issued the bounty “out of respect for the prophet” and because the United States is “not going to pass any such laws” to prevent violence sparked by the film.

Some 15,000 people took part in Monday's rally in Peshawar, which was organized by the Difa-e-Pakistan Council — an umbrella group of Islamist organizations. Past protests against the anti-Islam film have turned deadly in Pakistan.
