Gunmen have killed one person and wounded two others in an attack at a popular hotel in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
Security forces say the suspected militants opened fire Friday in front of the hotel in Kashmir's main city, Srinagar, before they entered the building and continued shooting.
A hotel bellboy was killed.
Police say a search is underway to find the gunmen. The motive for the shooting is unclear.
Kashmir is claimed in full by India and Pakistan. Since 1989, Muslim separatists have been fighting for Kashmir's independence from Hindu-majority India or for a merger with Muslim-majority Pakistan.
The nuclear-armed neighbors have fought two wars over the Himalayan region since gaining independence from Britain in 1947.
