Pakistani authorities say a suicide bombing at the gates of a building housing paramilitary forces in Karachi has killed three people and wounded at least 18 others.

A spokesman for the force known as the Rangers said the bomber smashed his truck into the gates of the compound but did not enter it.

Reports indicate the structure is heavily damaged.

Karachi, Pakistan's largest city, has seen rising violence because of political, ethnic, and sectarian tensions.
