Parliamentary elections are under way in Romania, with polls indicating the center-left ruling alliance is expected to win.
Opinion polls put Prime Minister Victor Ponta's ruling Social-Liberal Union at about 57 percent, with President Traian Basecu's Right Romania Alliance trailing at a distant second with around 20 percent.
The two candidates have been locked in a personal feud since Mr. Ponta tried and failed to impeach Mr. Basescu in July. Mr. Basescu has hinted that he might refuse to re-appoint Mr. Ponta, regardless of who wins the election.
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe is monitoring Sunday's vote.
Results are expected to be released immediately after the polls close at 9 p.m.
