Afghan officials say a suicide bomber has killed at least five people in Kapisa province, northeast of Kabul.
Government officials said the attacker was in a car when he blew himself up near a government building.
Four civilians and at least one police officer were killed. At least four other people were wounded.
Earlier, Afghan officials said the country's vice president and interior minister survived a rocket attack at a police training center in Wardak province.
Government officials say Vice President Karim Khalili and Interior Minister Besmullah Mohammadi were unhurt in Wednesday's attack, and no one else was injured.
