The Florida Marlins have named 80-year-old Jack McKeon to be their next manager, making him the second-oldest team manager in Major League Baseball history.

The Marlins say McKeon will come out of retirement to lead the struggling team for the remainder of the year. Florida had lost 10 games in a row prior to McKeon being named manager.

McKeon's managerial career began in Kansas City nearly 40 years ago. He led the Marlins to a World Series championship in 2003 before retiring two years later.

The oldest manager ever was Connie Mack who led the Philadelphia Athletics for half a century until 1950 when he was 87. He also owned the team.
