U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is headed to Europe on a four-day visit to Hungary, Lithuania and Spain.

Clinton left Wednesday for Hungary, where she is inaugurating a human rights center named after a late U.S. congressman, Hungarian-born Tom Lantos, who founded the Human Rights Caucus in Congress.

She also plans to meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi.

On her Lithuanian stop Thursday, Clinton plans to attend a meeting of the Community of Democracies focusing on ways to advance women in politics and business and to combat human trafficking. She also is meeting with President Dalia Grybauskaite, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius and other officials.

The State Department said Clinton would visit Madrid on Friday and Saturday.

Clinton plans to meet with Spanish President Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero and Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez about a range of issues, including the conflicts in Afghanistan, North Africa and the Middle East, trade, investment and economic concerns.
