A sixth person has pleaded guilty to helping recruit Somalis from the U.S. state of Minnesota to return to their homeland in an effort to overthrow the Somali government. The Somali nationals were to join the al-Shebab terror group.

The U.S. Justice Department said 26-year-old Omer Abdi Mohamed pleaded guilty Monday. The charges included conspiring to murder, kidnap and maim abroad. The terror recruits targeted Ethiopian and Somali government troops.

Five others have already pleaded guilty to various counts in the investigation involving the terrorist group al-Shebab.
