Police in Britain say six people, including two children, were stabbed to death Sunday on the island of Jersey.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested in the stabbing attack, which took place in an apartment building in the island's capital, Saint Helier.
Police said the victims are Jersey residents and include two men and two women, in addition to the two young children. The suspect was treated for unspecified injuries at a Jersey hospital and is said to be recovering.
Jersey police official Stewart Gull said the investigation is in its early stages, and the circumstances of the attack have yet to be established.
Violent crime is rare in Jersey, a Channel Island located off the west coast of France's Normandy.
