Rwanda and China have signed six agreements for new development projects in the African nation.
Under the deals signed Thursday, China will give Rwanda a $9 million grant for construction of a hospital and road project in the capital, Kigali, and the development of a Chinese operated agriculture project.
The agreement also calls for Rwanda building a new government administrative complex.
China has also given Rwanda a $9 million interest free loan.
The Chinese Deputy Commerce Minister, Gao Hucheng, says while investing in Rwanda's mining and infrastructure, China will also start several projects in the areas of medicine, solar energy, and vocational schools.
Rwandan Foreign Affairs Minister Louis Mushikiwabo says trade and investment between China and Rwanda is encouraging.
Chinese officials say trade with Rwanda increased 50 percent between 2006 and 2008.
