Authorities in Switzerland are warning that violent storms are expected to hit the country Friday.

The Swiss national weather service issued a storm alert for most of the country, saying it expects winds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

The government is calling on citizens to brace for severe rainfall and possibly hail.
