A Bangladeshi oil worker who was one of seven workers rescued after floating for three days in the Gulf of Mexico has died after being taken to the hospital.

The workers, including two Americans and four Mexicans, are among 10 who evacuated their oil platform last Thursday to escape Tropical Storm Nate. They became lost when they abandoned their disabled lifeboat for a raft, and were found off the coast of the state of Campeche on Sunday.

Two other workers were found dead while the 10th is still missing.

Officials have reported no serious damage after Nate swept ashore in Veracruz along the southern Mexican gulf coast.
