British police arrested seven suspects late Sunday in Birmingham in a counter-terrorism operation.
Police say the arrests had no connection to a Liberal Democrat party conference taking place in Birmingham.
A police statement said six men ranging between 25- and 32-years of age were held on suspicion of preparing an act of terrorism. A 22-year old woman was arrested for failing to disclose information to prevent an act of terrorism.
The seven suspects are being held for further questioning while police continue searching properties across the Birmingham region.
Police offered no further explanation of the charges or what acts of terrorism were allegedly being planned.
