U.S. stocks declined in Friday's trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped two-tenths of a percent to close at 11,103. The S&P 500 slid eight-tenths of a percent to close at 1,155 while the NASDAQ moved down 1.1 percent to hit 2,479.
European stock markets were higher at the close of Friday's trading. London's Financial Times 100 index gained two-tenths of a percent to end at 5,303. The CAC-40 in Paris advanced two-thirds of a percent to finish at 3,096. The DAX in Frankfurt rose half a percent to hit 5,676.
In Asia, Tokyo's Nikkei index gained one percent , to close at 8,606. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index climbed 3.1 percent , to end at 17,707.
The price of gold fell more than $13 to trade at $1,638.14 an ounce.
The U.S. dollar was up against the yen and the euro.
