Pakistani officials say a roadside bomb killed at least four people in the country's northwest on Tuesday.

Police say the improvised explosive device was detonated near a vehicle in a remote area of Pakistan's Lower Dir tribal region, near the country's border with Afghanistan.

At least two people were wounded in the blast.

Pakistan's northwest tribal belt is a known stronghold for al-Qaida and Taliban-linked militants.
