A 22-year-old U.S. soldier has been arrested in Alaska on suspicion of espionage.

An Army spokesman said Specialist William Colton Millay was arrested Friday at a military base in Alaska.

The spokesman said Millay was taken into custody following a joint investigation by the FBI and Army counterintelligence.

He said the arrest is not linked to the WikiLeaks case, in which a soldier was arrested last year for allegedly leaking documents to the anti-secrecy website.

The spokesman did not provide further details about Millay's arrest.
