South Africa's ruling party is expected to announce the verdict Thursday of a disciplinary hearing for its outspoken youth leader.
Julius Malema and five top officials of the African National Congress's youth league are charged with bringing disgrace to the party and promoting division within the ANC.
Malema is accused of undermining President Jacob Zuma's leadership.
He has also gotten into trouble with ANC leaders after promoting a leadership change in neighboring Botswana.
If found guilty, Malema could be suspended or expelled from the ANC.
Malema pleaded guilty to criticizing President Zuma in another disciplinary hearing last year.
During that time, the ANC said if Malema was cited within two years of promoting division within the party, he could be suspended.
There are reports that Malema's actions have been aimed at replacing Mr. Zuma, who is seeking reelection next year.
The controversial Malema is known for his racially-tinged rhetoric, and was found guilty of hate speech this year by singing an anti-apartheid song whose lyrics mean “shoot the white farmer.”
