Reports from northern Nigeria say gunmen from a radical Muslim sect have struck once again, this time attacking a wedding ceremony and killing two people, a groom and a guest.
Boko Haram has been blamed for staging several attacks over the past year as part of a campaign to implement strict Islamic Shariah law across the central African country’s northern sector.
According to an army spokesman, Saturday’s attack took place in the northeastern city of Maiduguri. He said three other people were wounded in the attack.
Attacks blamed on Boko Haram gunmen include an assault in August on United Nations headquarters in Abuja, the capital, which left at least two dozen people dead.
