Security firm Stratfor's website remains closed Tuesday after it was hacked by a group calling itself Anonymous.
The computer hackers said in an online message Sunday they stole thousands of e-mail addresses and credit card information from the on-line security firm to donate $1 million to charity.
In the online message, Anonymous said the security firm failed to encrypt its clients' information, making it vulnerable to theft.
The security firm has moved its communications to its Facebook page following the online security breach.
An announcement was made on the Stratfor Facebook page warning public supporters of the company that they could be targeted by the hacker group.
The Anonymous Twitter page announced more hacking efforts in the next week.
Stratfor's clients include the U.S. Defense Department, the Air Force and the Army. Anonymous says it used the stolen information to send cash gifts to various charities including the Red Cross, CARE and Save the Children. It promised to wreak more havoc with information taken from celebrities.
Anonymous has taken responsibility for past hacking incidents.
