Pakistani intelligence officials say a U.S. drone strike has killed 10 suspected militants in Pakistan's northwestern tribal area near the Afghan border.

The officials said the unmanned aircraft fired two missiles Thursday into a compound east of Miran Shah.

The attack comes a day after officials said a drone strike killed four militants in the same region.

Pakistan has demanded an end U.S. drone strikes on Pakistani soil. The U.S. says the strikes targeting militants are crucial to defeating al-Qaida and the Taliban.
