Media reports out of Japan say police have arrested the last fugitive from the religious cult that launched deadly nerve gas attacks on Tokyo's subway system in 1995.
Japan's public broadcaster NHK said 54-year-old Katsuya Takahashi, a former member of the Aum Shin Rikyo cult, was arrested Friday at a comic book cafe in downtown Tokyo. An employee recognized him and called police.
A manhunt had been under way in the Tokyo area since the arrest June 3 of 40-year-old Naoko Kikuchi, another former member of the cult that released sarin gas in the subway, killing 13 people and injuring more than 6,000. She is suspected of manufacturing the gas.
The Aum Shin Rikyo cult was also responsible for a 1994 attack on the central Japanese city of Matsumoto, where sarin killed eight people.
Cult leader Shoko Asahara is on death row along with at least 11 other members.
