Japanese markets closed higher Tuesday, while the U.S. dollar is lower against the Japanese yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained nearly one and one-fourth percent to finish at 9,460. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.19 yen, a slight drop from Monday’s closing figures. Gold is trading at $1,543.53 an ounce.
