Asian stock markets were mixed in early trading Friday. Tokyo’s Nikkei index was unchanged , to close at 8,700. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index dropped 2.32 percent , to end at 17,592. Japanese share prices ended lower Monday, while the dollar fell against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index dropped 2.17 percent , to close at 8,374. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 76.34 yen, down a quarter of a yen from late Friday. The Taipei market fell 2.40 percent , to close at 6,877.
