Japanese markets closed lower Wednesday, while the U.S. dollar is slightly lower against the Japanese yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index lost nearly one percent to finish at 9,890. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 79.03 yen, a loss of a fraction of a yen from Monday. Gold is trading at $1,601.73 an ounce.
