Tokyo Stocks Down, Dollar Flat

Japanese share prices ended lower Monday, while the dollar rose against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index dropped seven-tenths of a percent to close at 9,448. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.38 yen, up slightly from late Friday. Gold was trading at $1,527.59 an ounce.

Japanese share prices ended lower Monday, while the dollar rose against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index dropped seven-tenths of a percent , to close at 9,448. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.48 yen, up slightly from late Friday. The Taipei market fell 1.41 percent , to close at 8,713.

Japanese share prices ended higher Friday, while the dollar slipped against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained half a percent , to close at 9,514. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.07 yen, down three-tenths of a yen from late Thursday. Gold was trading at $1,543.92 an ounce.

In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 80.08 yen, down three-tenths of a yen from late Thursday. The Taipei market dropped 1.81 percent , to close at 8,838.
