Japanese share prices ended sharply lower Monday, while the dollar fell against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index dropped 2.3 percent to close at 8,536. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 76.85 yen, down three-quarters of a from late Friday. Gold was trading at $1,846.40 an ounce.
