Japanese markets closed lower Wednesday, while the U.S. dollar is flat in trading against the Japanese yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index plunged more than two percent to finish at 9,637. The dollar was selling at 77.14 yen, unchanged from Tuesday. Gold is trading at $1,669.00 an ounce.
