Japanese markets closed higher Friday, while the U.S. dollar is higher against the Japanese yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index gained close to three-quarters of one percent to finish at 10,138. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 81.35, a gain of one-tenth of a yen from Thursday. Gold is trading at $1,526.25 an ounce.
