Why Alabamians Should Vote for Marco Rubio

Perry O. Hooper Jr. – The Huntsville Times

Marco Rubio has the charisma, youth, enthusiasm, and positive conservative vision that so many in this country want and desire after six disastrous years of Obama. The son of legal Cuban immigrates whose daddy worked as a bartender and momma as a maid so he could live the American dream….

One of his biggest challenges is that he may have to compete with fellow Floridian Jeb Bush. This is a challenge he could turn into an asset. Bush, a personal friend and former political mentor, personally selected Rubio as a leader for the future of the party.

His youth is another challenge he could turn into an asset. He could well do for the Republican party what Barack Obama did for the Democrats in 2008; energize the youth vote for the GOP.

New York Times Attacks Marco Rubio For Not Being Rich Enough

Alex Griswold – The Daily Caller

Let’s give The New York Times some credit right off the bat: its newest attack on Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio is substantially more newsworthy than the fact that he racked up four traffic tickets in two decades — but not by much….

The piece goes on to document Rubio’s financial struggles ever since he graduated from law school with nearly $200,000 in debt in 1996. Gosh, how could voters could relate to someone who struggles with student debt and mortgages and gets speeding tickets?

Perhaps the Times’ concern about Rubio’s bad financial standing would be more believable if we didn’t just have a presidential election where the Republican candidate was excoriated for being too rich and making decisions that were too financially sound. Romney was a heartless bastard for cutting jobs to keep companies afloat and putting his money overseas.

Rubio’s Double-standard Problem

Tim Padgett – The Miami Herald

I’m waiting any moment now for Marco Rubio to demand that President Obama recall our ambassador to China and shut down our embassy there.

That’s because the junior senator from Florida – and now Republican presidential candidate – has decided to get tough on China. In an article posted today on the National Review, Rubio declared that the communist regime in Beijing “has gotten a free pass” for far too long and that it’s got to start answering for its often brutal human rights abuses.

All I can say is: Hear, hear, Senator! It’s exciting to see Rubio take this bold stand after, well, giving China a free pass for far too long. Like the time – just last year, actually – he let Beijing pay for a junket his aides took to the People’s Republic for friendly talks on trade and foreign policy.
