More than one-third of American adults say they would give up their right to vote for life in exchange for a 10 percent increase in their pay.
The study, done by financial advice website LendEdu, found Americans would give up a lot of things in exchange for a raise.
More than 50 percent said they would quit watching movies for three years for a raise. Over 15 percent said they would give up all of their vacation days for more money. Half said they would work one day each weekend for the next year for a pay raise. Perhaps unsurprisingly, nearly 44 percent of Americans said they would give up exercise for five years to see an increase in their paychecks.
Some respondents, just over 9 percent, even said they would give up their children’s right to vote for life. Two out of five would give up dental care for five years, and 12 percent said they would break up with their significant other.
Other sacrifices respondents said they’d make for a raise include:
- 53.55 percent would give up all social media accounts for the next five years
- 88.61 percent would give up watching Game of Thrones for life
- 73.42 percent would give up all alcoholic beverages for the next five years
- 17.93 percent would give up Social Security benefits for the next two years
- 18.9 percent would give up access to health insurance for the next five years
- 55.9 percent would work an extra 10 hours per week for life
- 47.74 percent would give up all caffeinated products for the next two years
- 5.33 percent would eat a single Tide laundry detergent pod
While results of the survey may be shocking to some, numerous reports have found that a majority of Americans don’t even have $1,000 in savings to cover a potential emergency.
Our Forefathers warned us of these days. Leftist think has people chasing tail for the dollar, a temporary fix to prop up the illusion of security or social status, with government being the so-called ‘answer’. Everywhere it’s done here poverty is setting in like cancer as society devolves. No institution can provide better than free and industrious individuals. There should be a companion survey asking the legitimate and overlooked question: what would Americans (or nationals from any other nation) do to secure their God-given rights of liberty, sovereignty and Constitutional justice?
Sad state of affairs if people would give up their rights and privileges for a 10% raise. Honestly, give up medical and dental benefits? Give up voting privileges? If you are really that hard up for money, give up smoking, give up alcohol, give up cable TV, stop spending so much time on social media, and here is a novel idea….save your money and not spend it on things you really don’t need, like an expensive mobile phone or that 60+ inch HD television. Cut back on the non-essentials, and you will more than make up that 10% pay raise.
