Mexican officials say a tourist boat carrying 44 people, including more than 20 Americans, has capsized off Mexico's Baja California peninsula.

Authorities say there are survivors, but the number is not immediately clear. Some people are reported to be missing.

CNN reports the U.S. Coast Guard is sending helicopters to assist the Mexican Navy with search and rescue efforts.
