Officials in Yemen say a car bomb outside a military base in the city of Aden on Sunday has killed at least seven people and wounded more than 15 others.

Officials say the blast occurred as troops were preparing to leave for Abyan province to assist in fighting al-Qaida-linked militants.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but officials suspect the militants may be behind the attack.
