Tokyo Stocks, Dollar Higher

Japanese share prices ended higher Monday, while the dollar rose against the yen. Tokyo’s Nikkei index jumped one-and-one-third percent to close at 9,965. In currency trading, the dollar was selling at 77.42 yen, up two-thirds of a yen from late Friday. Gold was trading at $1,617.05 an ounce.
