South Korean President Lee Myung-bak is in Mongolia for talks with President Tsakhia Elbegdorj on a visit that coincides with a visit to Ulan Bator by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden.
South Korea's news agency says Mr. Lee and Mr. Elbegdorj agreed during a meeting Monday to boost resources and energy cooperation and bolster ties in all other areas.
The Yonhap news agency said the two countries' resources ministers signed a memorandum of understanding calling for cooperation in natural resource development, electricity, renewable energy and other areas.
Mr. Lee arrived in Mongolia Sunday on a tour of Central Asia that will also take him to Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. It was not clear whether he would meet in Ulan Bator with Mr. Biden.
