Thousands of Israelis are holding massive protests in Tel Aviv and other cities against the rising cost of living.
Television footage showed a large crowd of chanting protesters in Tel Aviv waving banners.
Activists say Saturday's so-called “march of the million” rallies are designed to draw attention to economic issues that include housing prices and education costs.
The demonstrations began in July, when activists set up a tent camp in a Tel Aviv square.
In August, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu set up a commission to propose economic reforms and hold negotiations with the demonstrators. However, many activists rejected the calls for dialogue, saying additional reforms should be first be made.
The government has since enacted measures that include tax breaks. But many demonstrators say the government's steps are insufficient.
